Dr Dayal graduated from Otago Medical School and completed his neurology training in Auckland.

He then moved to London for a fellowship in movement disorders and worked at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, for five years.

He was awarded a PhD from University College London for research into optimising programming of Deep Brain Stimulation for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

He currently works as a neurologist at Auckland City Hospital.
