 Dr Suren Subramaniam is a graduate of the Otago University School of Medicine. His postgraduate paediatric training has taken him across Aotearoa New Zealand — from Dunedin to Whangārei — and has included time at Starship Hospital and other leading paediatric centres throughout Auckland.

Suren is currently practicing as a General Paediatrician in the Auckland region at Kidzfirst in Middlemore Hospital. Suren works across both hospital-based acute care and community settings. He is also actively involved in medical education, teaching undergraduate students through the University of Auckland.

Suren is passionate about supporting children and their whānau with a warm, collaborative approach. He is committed to providing family-centred care that is grounded in the latest research and clinical best practice. Suren welcomes the opportunity to work alongside families, offering holistic, compassionate, and evidence-based support for children at all stages of development with varying health concerns. 

His areas of interest include (but not limited to):
- Faltering growth/failure to thrive/feeding concerns 
- Enuresis ( including nocturnal enuresis) 
- Constipation (as well as faecal incontinence/soiling) 
- Urinary tract infections 
- Headaches
- Behavioural assessments including ADHD and Autism spectrum disorder
- Recurrent infections 
- Non specific/diagnostically uncertain complaints affecting child or young person 

Outside of work, Suren is married and a proud father to a young daughter
