Dr Peter Bergin is a Neurologist at Auckland Medical Specialists
Dr Bergin started training in neurology in Wellington, and then spent 5 years in London working at the Royal Free Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square. While there, he completed an MD on the effects of epilepsy on memory. Dr Bergin returned to Auckland in the mid 1990’s and has been working at Auckland City Hospital since then, and in private since the early 2000s.
Alongside his work in general neurology and epilepsy at Auckland Medical Specialists, he oversees the epilepsy surgery programme at Auckland City Hospital and leads a clinical research programme into epilepsy. While he has a special interest in epilepsy, he sees patients with a wide range of neurological problems.
