Dr Manoharan completed his medical degree in Sri Lanka and began his career working in the surgical field before transitioning to psychiatry. He migrated to New Zealand in 1998, where he undertook specialist training and qualified as a psychiatrist.

He has extensive experience working in both inpatient and community settings across the public sector in New Zealand and Australia. His clinical work spans a wide range of psychiatric presentations, and he brings a calm, thoughtful, and patient-centred approach to care.
