NEUROPSYCHIATRY
NEUROPSYCHIATRY
What is Neuropsychiatry?
Neuropsychiatry refers to the clinical area focusing on non-motor and non-sensory aspects of brain function; i.e. cognitive, behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with brain injury and neurological disorders. This can involve acquired brain injuries including cerebral bleeds and stroke, epilepsy, infections, brain tumours, movements disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
Dr Kritzinger's practice at Auckland Medical Specialists is predominantly focused on assessment, rehabilitation and treatment of acquired brain injury.
Referrals
Dr Kritzinger accepts referrals from neurologists, medical specialists and Third Parties (eg ACC). Other referrals are considered on a case by case basis. Due to the structure of his practice, Dr Kritzinger mostly focuses on assessment and consultation assessments and is not able to offer medium or longer term treatment.
